How do I get to Florence Nightingale Suites?
Florence Nightingale Suites is easily accessible by both car and public transport.
The nearest railway station is Whatstandwell , just a 5-minute drive from the house, with convenient connections from Manchester and other major cities.
If you're travelling by air, the closest airports are:
• Manchester Airport – approximately 1.5 hours away, with direct train connections to Whatstandwell station.
• London Luton Airport – approximately 2 hours away by car.
If you need advice on the best route or local transport options, we're always happy to help you plan your journey.
What time is check-in and check-out at Florence Nightingale Suites?
Standard check-in is available from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm , and check-out is between 7:00 am and 10:00 am .
If you would like to check in before 12:00 pm , we may be able to arrange this for an additional charge of £50 , subject to availability.
Please note that late check-in after 9:00 pm is also available by prior arrangement and incurs an additional £50 fee.
If you expect to arrive outside the standard check-in hours, please contact us in advance and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.
Which room would you recommend?
Without a doubt, the Florence Historical Room .
This unique room occupies what was once Florence Nightingale's own room, where she spent part of her childhood and later returned after the Crimean War. Today, it has been carefully recreated with authentic 19th-century furnishings and historical details.
Guests can also discover artifacts connected to Florence Nightingale and experience the atmosphere of the house where one of history's most influential women found inspiration.

Our accommodation is offered in four room categories:
• Deluxe Queen
• Deluxe King
• Honeymoon Suite (with study)
• Family Room (two bedrooms and one bathroom)
Is Florence Nightingale Suites suitable for families with children?
Yes, absolutely. We regularly welcome families with children, and there's plenty of space for little ones to play, explore and enjoy the outdoors.
Our large gardens are perfect for family walks, outdoor games and discovering nature together.
For younger guests, we also have an outdoor play area with a trampoline, swings and a slide, as well as an indoor playroom with books, games and videos for rainy days or quieter moments.

Is breakfast available at Florence Nightingale Suites?
Yes. Guests can enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast each morning in the elegant surroundings of Florence Nightingale Suites.
Choose from a traditional Full English Breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausages, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms and toast, or a delicious Vegetarian Breakfast featuring eggs, avocado, fresh greens, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms and toast.
We also offer vegan and gluten-free options. For a lighter start to the day, you can add natural yogurt, chia seeds or granola, and fresh seasonal berries.
Our breakfasts celebrate the best of British hospitality, using fresh ingredients to help you start your day in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside.
Is parking and Wi-Fi available at Florence Nightingale Suites?

Can I enjoy the gardens during my stay?
Absolutely. One of the highlights of staying at Florence Nightingale Suites is spending time in our beautiful gardens, which surround the house and offer a peaceful place to relax throughout the day.
You'll find a terrace with outdoor tables and chairs, comfortable loungers, and a garden swing that's a favourite spot for both relaxing and taking photographs. Whether you're enjoying your morning coffee, afternoon tea, or a light lunch, there are plenty of quiet corners to sit and take in the countryside.
Our gardens are home to dozens of different plants, creating colour and fragrance through the changing seasons. As we're surrounded by nature, it's not unusual to spot sheep grazing nearby, peacocks wandering past, or even deer visiting the grounds. They don't live here, but they do like to stop by, and our guests always enjoy these unexpected encounters with local wildlife.

Yes. Photo shoots at Florence Nightingale Suites can be arranged in the house and garden, provided they do not disturb our guests and the date and time are agreed in advance.

Are pets and smoking allowed at Florence Nightingale Suites?
